- Sandbach has been the home of four fire engine stations in the town with the first being on Church Street (possibly on the corner of Hawk Street and Church Street). In 1873 the fire station with its two appliances moved to the area behind the Town Hall roughly in the position of the Savers store today. After WW2 the Fire Station moved again, this time to a building on Scotch Common which had been the National School and is now in 2021 the position of the Market Stall storage facility. |
